Guest house „12-ta Zastava“

Guest house „12-ta Zastava“ (12th Border Post) is located on the state border with Greece at about 1500 m altitude. It is situated some 8 km off Barutin village and 14 km from Dospat. The area is known for its wildlife – roe deer, hares, foxes, bears, wild boars, capercallies etc.

Originally the building had been used as barracks for the border patrols but nowadays it has been reconstructed and functions as a mountain hut. The guest house offers food, accommodation and various tourist services for its guests. In the area around the building the remains of well preserved border protection facilities could be observed – metal fences, furrows and border pyramids.
