Pochilenata barchina peak (1546 m) kept a stronghold during the Ottoman invasion, when Krali Marko settled here as an independent feudal lord. At the foot of the mountain could be found remains of mounds and other artifacts dating back from Thracian, Roman or Byzantine times. The peak reveals magnificent panorama in all directions. The place is situated 5.7 km from Dospat in Batak direction, where on road № 37, the route turns right some 4.7 km off Dospat at Pilchevata fountain. A dirt road (1 km) should then be followed. The access is either by waling or by using a high passable vehicle. The total duration of the route is 2-4 hours. Pochilenata barchina could also be reached using another route which is longer however flatter. The exit from road №37 is situated at 1.5 km from Pilcheva fountain or 6.3 km off Dospat (direction signs are visible).
