The route starts from a junction on the main road connecting Barutin and Brashten villages, marked with an indicative sign board.
The trail follows a gravel road descending towards the valley of Dospat river with a rest place with a shelter and a fountain along the way.
After crossing the river, the route moves right on a narrow path going upstream and in about 5 minutes the remains of the bridge could be reached. Close by is the memorial plaque of the border guard Vergil Vaklinov and his faithful dog Vihar, losing their lives in a fight with border trespassers in 1953. The length of the route is 1.6 km.
